Refresh
It has felt refreshing to take a week-long break from the food-blogging routine. As my favorite non-food blogger wrote this week… just as farmers let the land lie fallow so that the richness of the soil can regenerate, it’s important for people/writers/cooks to take a breather and regenerate in order to come back stronger than ever.
I’m committed to food-blogging for the long haul. So, I’ve got to pace myself and not write crap posts just for the sake of updating.
Besides, I’m trying to drop a couple pounds, so I don’t think anyone wants to hear about my snacks of edamame and carrots, followed by dinners of super-bland, ultra-lean turkey burgers with 2% cheese slices.
Ugh. Don’t remind me. Think bikini, bikini, bikini…
In the meantime, I’ve been making lots of new hummus flavors for my husband, ordering fun new kitchen tools, reading my food magazines, and daydreaming about savory treats and summer tomatoes and blueberries in season and so much else…

Good luck with the weight loss, looks like we’re both trying to lose a few pounds. I recently started getting eating well magazine and they had a couple of great ideas. I’ve already tried the portabello burgers and am looking forward to shrimp with the gazpacho salad. Make sure you get your 5 portions of fruit and veg a day and eat little and often!
