My name is Beth.

I’m a simple girl who loves to eat and insists on top quality. I live with my similarly food-obsessed husband, Daniel, who is my high school sweetheart. We’ve pretty much decided that it’s perfectly fine with us if the majority of our discretionary income goes towards food. Our memories are always punctuated by recollections of our favorite dishes, and we’ll plan trips around the perfect meal. A week will rarely pass without sushi and we grumble to each other when we have to attend a gathering where we know the food is going to suck. I guess you could say we’re kind of snobby about food.

Oh yeah, and we drink more than we should.

I cook a lot and I want to cook more. I could own a million cookbooks and it wouldn’t be enough. I clip recipes like a fiend, even though I know I’ll never have time to try them all.

San Diego is my home, now and forever. I’m rather obsessed with Japan at the moment, after having spent two weeks there in April. I teach high school, I’m an Internet addict, and I love to sleep. I’m rather lazy, to tell you the truth, but I’m super-motivated by food at the moment, so this blog is here to document my passions.

You can email me at zenfoodism AT yahoo DOT com.

  7. Very cool site! (I thought my wife was the only one that planned vacations around food). I will be checking your blog frequently for new food ideas. What’s your favorite SD restaurant?

Will be linking you to my blog…

  9. I stumbled over your Blog some weeks ago and whenever I read it I start to miss San Diego so bad :/ I used to live there for 6 month in 2002 (I attended a language school there). One day, I’ll pack up my Husband and our furry kids and make him move to San Diego with me (right now we live in Chicago, IL)
